Too Faced White Peach Palette Review and Swatches

Makeup

March 1, 2018

OK I admit it. At first I thought “another peach palette?!”. My first inclination was to not even pay attention to this release. I have no idea why. Well am I ever happy I did because I think the Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette ($45 US/$55 CAD) may be my favorite peach palette to date. While the top row is indeed quite warm, the remaining shades of pink, plum, and taupe are gorgeous. GORGEOUS. I am so happy that this palette leans more neutral to cool overall. It is much more flattering on my skintone.

I love the packaging. I am a huge fan of the direction the Too Faced Peach packaging has taken with the last couple releases. It is this amazing mix of cute and luxe that I am so attracted to.

The formula of these shadows is lovely. I think they are some of the most pigmented and buttery smooth Too Faced eyeshadows I’ve experienced. They are quite powdery though so there is a lot of kick-up. As long as you tap of the brush it doesn’t affect application but it is messy in the palette. I used a sponge tip applicator to do my swatches and these shadows perform so well that I ended up having too much product. No wishy washy mattes here. They are so rich and beautiful.

The 12 shades are:

  • Peach Cream (matte soft cream)
  • Peach Suede (matte dusty rose)
  • Peaches & Dreams (golden peach pearl)
  • Crème de la Peach (soft coral with gold sparkle)
  • Peach Sorbet (matte creamy peach)
  • Glistening Peach (rose gold with sparkle)
  • Peach Smoothie (matte rose taupe)
  • Sweet Fig (matte smoky mauve)
  • Peach Ice (white shimmer with gold sparkle)
  • Fuzzy (matte creamy grey)
  • On the Grill (matte charcoal grey)
  • Peach Passion (deep orchid with blue and purple sparkle)

I have fair skin so I was so happy to see that there are so many softer shades in this palette. I do wish there were one or two deeper (but not as dark as On the Grill and Peach Passion) to contour with in the outer v. I do find I sometimes have to reach for another palette to create a look but I’m OK with that because I love the matte shades in this palette so much. One of the things I usually love about Too Faced eyeshadow palettes is that they are so complete and well rounded and I don’t have to reach for others shades. I’m willing to forgive this in White Peach. The only shadows that I wasn’t 100% delighted with were Crème de la Peach (this shade is predominately matte but has some random gold sparkle in it that I didn’t find necessary) and Peach Ice (this was a little too stark and glittery for my tastes). For Glistening Peach I do like to apply it with a wet brush for more impact. The swatches below were done dry though.

Now the problem is my 10 year old daughter loves this palette as much as I do. She thinks it should be hers. Oh boy!
